Hayley Dunn Named Rohan Award Recipient for the 67th Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade

Holyoke, Massachusetts – November 30, 2017 – The St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke has announced that the 61st recipient of the Rohan Award is long-time Committee member and a resident of Holyoke, Hayley Dunn. The Rohan Award is presented to a long-standing member who has made significant contributions to the overall success of the Parade and/or the Committee. The Award is named after the Parade’s first Grand Marshal, Thomas F. Rohan.

A 10-year Committee member, Hayley has held several roles including as Media Liaison, Chair of the Grand Marshal’s Reception, and serving on the Marketing, Music, Coronation Ball, Ambassador’s Breakfast and 60th Parade Anniversary Committees. She has also served on the Selection Committees for the Grand Marshal, JFK and Ambassador Award recipients and served two terms on the Board of Directors, including as Vice President. Hayley also enjoys serving as Mistress of Ceremonies for the Grand Coronation Ball, particularly since she was a member of the Grand Colleen Court in 1999.

Hayley is a second-generation Parade Committee member and Award recipient. Her father, Ray Feyre was the 2015 Grand Marshal and 1988 Rohan Award recipient; her Aunt, Mary Lynch was the 1996 Rohan Award recipient; and her sister, Brynn Gillis is also an active Committee member. One of Hayley’s favorite Parade duties is “working the lot” with her aunt and sister every Parade morning. She is particularly honored to receive the Rohan Award 30 years after her Father.

Hayley is Manager of Community Relations for Eversource Energy where she works with a Team in Boston, Central and Western Massachusetts. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce, 495 MetroWest Corridor Partnership, Holyoke Children’s Museum, the Holyoke Board of Registrar of Voters and is a 2015 graduate of the Leadership Pioneer Valley Program. Born and raised in Holyoke, she is a graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School, Providence College (BA) and Suffolk University (MPA). She and her husband, Frank, are the proud parents to Frankie (8), Charlotte (6), Eloise (2) and Harry (1).

“I’m honored and humbled to receive this Award.” Hayley said. “Organizing one of the largest St. Patrick’s Parades in the country is not easy, but the Parade Committee is the most passionate group of individuals I know. They have become my second family and I enjoy working with them on the Parade, Road Race and other social events. I love Holyoke and being a part of this annual tradition that brings so much joy to my community is extremely rewarding. I look forward to marching in the Parade with my family on March 18!”

2018 Parade President, Timothy O’Grady said “Hayley is dedicated and extremely involved with the Parade Committee every year. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed. Hayley is an amazing person and certainly earned to be the Rohan Award recipient. It is a great pleasure to have her marching with us in the 2018 Parade.”

Hayley and other Award recipients will be recognized at the St. Patrick’s Committee Awards Dinner on Saturday, January 27 at the Wherehouse? in Holyoke. To purchase tickets, please contact Karen Casey at kmcasey@comcast.net.
