2025 Daniel J. Gallivan Award Recipient:
James Meenaghan
Jim has been retired since 2014 and has been employed for most of his life in health care related work: pharma sales, sales management, medical diagnostics and medical education development and programming.
Jim was born in Holyoke in the old Providence Hospital at the corner of Elm and Dwight Streets in Holyoke on October 9, 1950. He has been married to Susan Ratchford since August of 1975. They have two adult children and four grandchildren- Nora Meenaghan of Catonsville MD, spouse of Josh Garner and mother of Toby and Ruth and Brian Meenaghan of Vienna VA, spouse of Lacey (Kahner) Meenaghan and father of Annie and Stella.
Susan and Jim grew up in the Highlands and their elementary education was from the Sisters of Saint Joseph. Jim graduated Holyoke Catholic High School 1968, Holyoke Community College (AA), American International College 1973 (BA), with additional course work at Springfield College and UMass Amherst. They moved to Chelmsford MA, in 1992, for a corporate relocation. Jim has continued working on the line of march in every parade day since moving to Chelmsford.
Prior to relocation Jim served for 9 years on the Geriatric Authority of Holyoke Board of Directors, the last seven of which as chairman.
Retired in 2014 from a site director position with New England AIDS Education and Training Center, a program that is funded from DHHS through a grant to UMass Medical School.
