Thomas F. Rohan Award

The Thomas F. Rohan Award recipient shall be a long-standing member of the Parade Committee who has made significant contributions to the overall success of the Parade and/or this Association. In 1957, the St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke established an award to honor its first Grand Marshal, Thomas F. Rohan.

2024 Thomas F. Rohan Award Recipient: Stephanie Joyce

Stephanie was born and raised in Holyoke, where she currently resides, after spending a decade living on Hungry Hill in Springfield.  She is the daughter of Cynthia (Cameron) & Marc Joyce. She is proud to follow in her father's footsteps as the Thomas F. Rohan Award Winner 8 years after he was honored with this award.

Upon joining the Parade Committee in 2012, Stephanie quickly joined a number of sub-committees including the Music Committee, Golf Committee, Marketing Committee and the Program Book.  She enjoys planning the numerous events held each year and has co-chaired the Grand Marshals’ Reception, The Awards Dinner and The Coronation Ball.  Since 2018, Stephanie has been the Marketing Committee Liaison to PeoplesBank. Also in 2018, she was appointed as the Parade Committee’s Liaison to the Irish Cultural Center of Western New England, where she continues to serve as a Board Member as well as the Treasurer of this organization.

In June of 2017, Stephanie was elected to a 1-year term as the Chair of the Board of Directors, which ended up being a 5 year term, which included helping navigate two Parade cancelations due to Covid.

In addition to the volunteer work with the Parade Committee and Irish Cultural Center, Stephanie volunteers for a number of other Community Events, most importantly co-chairing the annual “Storming The Greens” Golf Tournament each Spring in memory of her very dear friend and fellow Parade Committee member, Heather McMahon.

Stephanie attended the Holyoke Public School and graduated from Holyoke High School in 2000. She then attended Suffolk University, before graduating from The Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. Stephanie started working at The Log Cabin/Delaney House in High School and continues to work managing The Log Cabin/Delaney House locations at The Big E each September. Stephanie has been working for the MA Department of Revenue since 2007.

Stephanie is the sister of 2002 Grand Colleen, Katie Joyce who resides in Natick with her husband, Marty Walsh and the proud aunt to their children Grace, Gabrielle and Rowan Walsh.  Her family looks forward to marching with Stephanie in the 2024 Parade!
